If you're feeling adventurous and would like to set your own temperature and cooking time, then Manual Mode is for you.
Tap on the Temperature Dial icon (in the middle of the tab bar) to use Manual Mode.
Manual Mode Basic
Best for: Ingredients that require one cooking temperature
Just set the temperature you want to cook your food in. Mellow will notify you when it reaches the target temperature so you know when to add your ingredients. This setting doesn't have a timer, so you will not receive a notification when your food is ready. If you want to set a timer, please use Manual Mode Advanced.
Manual Mode Advanced
Best for: Complex recipes and different temperature settings
This setting was designed to give you complete control over your ingredients and the cooking process. You can add several steps and specify the temperature and time for each step. This setting is also perfect if you want to set one temperature for a specific amount of time.
Once you set your desired temperature, Mellow will send you a notification when you should drop your food packet in. You'll also receive a notification when your food is ready.
Heads up! Putting your food packet into the water before your Mellow is at your desired temperature may lead to undesirable results or unsafe food.
Also, if you add multiple steps, Mellow does not notify you when it goes from Step 1 to Step 2. You are only notified when the water has reached your target temperature and when the last step is complete.
To use Manual Mode Advanced tap on the Manual Mode icon > toggle to Advanced screen. If you want to add multiple temperature and cooking durations, just tap on Add new step (top right corner).
The cooling feature is not yet available in Manual mode (but will be soon)!
